Faith Over Fear! I Choose Faith!

I have been feeling overwhelmed and stressed for quite some time.  I have tried so many ways to make it better and even tried just giving up.  I have been doing lots of praying, talking to friends and even more talking to God.  I am now choosing faith over fear.  Faith over the fear I am not good enough; faith over the fear that God doesn't love me; faith over the fear of what other people think; faith over choosing the world and the lie of busyness to not make time for me and God.

There have been hurricanes, tornadoes and floods over much of the country.  They are devastating and people think they can never overcome this. The storms of life are much the same. They are hard and devastating and we will like things are beyond our understanding and out of our life is out of control. This is where faith comes in.  We have to have faith in what we cannot see, what we can not understand and in God.  We have to choose faith over fear.

Faith comes in trusting God and that He wan…

Journey Through Life---Now I am the Mamaw!

I saw this picture the other day and it is so true for me.  I wish I could go back to their house just one more time.  So much of my memories are focused around time spent with them, on their front porch, playing in their yard and spending the night on a pallet at their house.  I am so thankful for the precious memories I have now that they are both in heaven.
As I was thinking about some sweet memories, I stopped and thought, I am the Mamaw now.  Me and Billy are Mamaw and Papaw.  Some day will our grands think this, wish they could come to our house one more time?  What kind of memories are we making?  What kind of things are we doing with them?  Will they be good memories or a time they would rather forget?
I think our grands really enjoy the things we do with them and the time we spend with them but I will be thinking and praying on this.  I will be thinking and praying on making even more memories before we are just that a memory.
What about you, what kind …

How to Hide More Scripture in your Heart SO easily!

I have been really convicted about learning more scripture and hiding it in my heart. This is something I am going to try and maybe you want to join me?
1. Choose one passage of Scripture for the week. My favorite passages for meditating on come from Psalms & Proverbs
2. Write the passage on a note card, and slip it in your pocket or beside your computer. Pull it out periodically, and read over it. Keep it in your purse all week long, and pull it out at convenient times and read through it.
3. Read the passage first thing in the morning.
Read the passage as soon as you get out of bed, so it’s the first thing on your mind that morning.

4. Open your Bible to that passage, and place it on the kitchen counter. All day long, when you walk through the kitchen, pause, read the passage, and then move on.

5. Read the passage out loud.
Read it to yourself, and read it to your children during mealtime and at bedtime.
6. Reread the passage before you go to bed at night.
Bookend your days with the …

Simple Womans Daybook for April 2017

For Today

Looking out my window I see sunshine and hear the birds singing
I am thinking how clean everything looks after the rain
I am thankful for my husband and that he listens for my heart drops

One of my favorite things is spending time on my front porch in the mornings and reading my bible
I am creating a space for me, it is a work in progress but will be worth the wait
I am wearing blue shorts, brown tshirt and a messy bun

I am reading (read) /watching (watched) / listening to: reading Listen, Love, Repeat for a bible study, my bible for me and watching the birds play in the puddles and listening to "Even If" by Mercy Me
I am hoping to get my house and laundry caught up today
I am learning that you do unto others as you would HAVE them do unto you not what they actually do to you
In my kitchen beer brats and fries and southern sweet tea per my son's request
In the school room we are done with formal learning for the year but will continue with…

Mother Duck and Jesus

This morning in class at church with my kids we learned about how God is always there to protect us from the storms of life. He will hide us like a Moma duck protects her babies from the storm. When the Moma sees the rain and senses a storm, she calls the baby ducks back to her and hides them under her wings. They can only be protected though if they answer her call and come running back to her. What storms of life is the Lord calling you back from? Are you listening to the call or are you still running in the rain?

Always Word of the Year Update

This is a very hard blog post for me to write.  I am sharing in hopes that it will help someone else as the events shared have impacted me.      Back in January I had made a post about my word of the year for this year.  The word I felt led to choose was always.  I was thinking today about how this word has impacted my life this year in the first 3 months or so.  I was not happy where this word has been in my life I am ashamed to say.      In talked to my husband,my family and God, I see the word always in my life a lot but not in the way I had hoped for it to be.  In the conversations I have heard things like this:
1) Always complaining
2) Always trying to get around blame
3) Always taking the stress of one person out on another
4) Always has an excuse for what is not done
This was not what I was looking for when I felt led to this word.  I did not want to hear this from the ones I love, but I needed to hear them.  I didn't to take responsibility and accept it so I could move forwa…

Unshaken-A Book, A Review and a Recomendation

Rarely would I say a book changed my life but Unshaken has done just that. For those who have never heard of Moms in Prayer, you will be surprised to discover that it is a quiet, but powerful movement that has covered the world through the prayers of women who, in the process of praying for children and schools, teach other women to pray. The prayer format of Moms in Prayer, is explained in this book and shows how to approach God through praise, confession, and thanksgiving, and then intercede for others by praying His words for them.
I used to have a problem for even praying for 5 minutes. My mind would wonder and sometimes I would think if my prayers were even making sense or being heard. Through this book I learned to be more effective and strengthened in my prayer life. When we pray God’s word we can be sure He is faithful to hear us. We then give it to Him and await His answer. He will help you to understand how He answers your requests too.
If you want to l…

Journey of Life-Learning that Being Me is Just Fine

As I go along on this journey, I have discovered not everyone will understand the decisions you make.  They won't understand the things you give up, fight for, or change.  That's okay, they don't have to understand, it is your life, your journey, not theirs.

Another thing I have noticed is this, people will try to make it all a competition. Its not a competition, its life.  Worse than that though,if they can't win, they will try to make you feel like you are a loser.  Don't let them make you agree, you are a child of the King of Kings and God made you like He wanted.  Don't let anyone drag you down so they can use you to feel better, or so they think.

Sometimes you will lose "friends" and maybe family.  You will grieve as it is natural.  But as you make changes you will feel better about you.  As you change, others will see the change and the ones who really matter will encourage you, support you and help you on your journey.  One day I…

Tball has came to Our World

We have our first grandchild to play Tball this year.  Jet is so excited to be playing too.  This past Saturday was opening ceremonies and also his first game.  It worked out that our whole family could actually be there to support him for this first of many tball games this spring and probably to come.

Here is a video of his first time up at bat.....if you are ever stressed, just go watch 4-5 year olds play tball and you won't be stressed when it is over.
This is just a small update of our life at the moment.
God bless, Pat

Random Friday Thoughts: About Life and Being Still!

Today is random thoughts Friday on the blog.....
I have been thinking a lot about life, my life. I have talked to several people about different things.  Everyone of them had something to say and what I should do, say or feel.  I have been so confused about everything and really just not knowing what to do.
I was reading something in a bible plan I was reading and it hit me that this is the problem in itself.  I have been talking to several people and all people are different so I got lots of ideas.  I have been so full of everyone's ideas that there was no room for mine or even more importantly Gods.
I am not saying it is bad to seek counsel but you have to be careful where you seek counsel cause sometimes counsel is hidden in I am nosy and want to get ammo to gossip about you.
Another thing I have learned is that some people will never like you no matter what you do or say.  Some people will pretend they like you but they are really using you.  Then there are if…

Misplaced and Found-Book Reviews of Books I Lost But Glad I Found-What Will You Think?

I from time to time get to be on book launch teams or review books in exchange for reading the book and giving my honest opinion.  I really enjoy doing this and I try really hard to do them on time in a timely manner.  I try I said but somehow through some moving things around and changing things the book review for these 2 books never got posted.  I feel bad about not completing this as I had committed but am going to do the best I can and post them now.  So here goes.....

Book 1--is a book for the little ones in your life.It is called The Play-Along Bible.  This is a wonderful book for the little ones, it teaches them about God but also to use their imagination through play.  Sometimes getting little ones to sit still long enough to learn a lesson is hard.  This book teaches them but lets them play and so they learn without having to be still. Whether it’s acting out the dawn of creation by making a funny fish face or belting out a giant roar while pretending to be a ferocious…

Journey Through Life-Putting all the Pieces of our Puzzle together Correctly

Life is like a jigsaw puzzle-family, friends, jobs, commitments, even enemies are all pieces of your life.  When you are putting a puzzle together, you can't just scatter the pieces any where you please and put it together. You have to try and form smaller sections and then put the smaller pieces together to form bigger and bigger sections until the whole puzzle is put together.        If you put pieces in the wrong places then the puzzle can't be put together right.  If you try to put job pieces in family pieces, it won't work.  If you try to put enemies in your friends places it won't fit, problem is that sometimes they look the same but they are not so it is hard to figure out which is which.  Sometimes the enemies smile in your face as much as friends. How do you know which is which?      What about God pieces?  Do you try to fit the God pieces in where you want or where He wants them to fit in your life best?  Or do you look for where God wants to be in your …
