Morning Breakfast Courtesy of Granddaughter

This morning after making breakfast for the grands and starting supper, I sat down here at my computer.  I looked up to see my oldest granddaughter. She said, Mamaw you need breakfast too.  This is what she made me.  She said, she made pastries and hot tea(toaster strudle and plain tea heated).  I have never ate better even in the fanciest of tea shops cause it was served with love! How is your day going on this fine, cool, fall day?
Until next time

Wednesday Medley October 30, 2019

1. During Red Ribbon Week a red ribbon or rubbery silicone bracelet is worn to remind others to live drug free lives and honor the sacrifices of all those who've have lost their lives fighting the war against illegal drugs.

Do you have family members or loved ones in law enforcement? Wearing any memorial ribbons or bracelets?
I have 2 sons who work in law enforcement, I am not sure if they do anything to honor red ribbon week but my older son is a K9 Officer and one thing his dog can do is search for drugs but I know he finds more than he wish was out there but the more they find, the less that is on the streets
2. There isn't an International Day for October 30th.
What is your suggestion for a new national or international day?

I would make a day to honor our foster kids and to find homes for as many as possible where they can be taken care of forever and loved and treated like they should be

3. On this date in 1938, Orson Welles performed his radio play of H. G. Wells' The War Of The Worlds. Some people understood it to be an actual news broadcast of a Martian attack though there were disclaimers throughout the show.

Have you witnessed an example of people behaving to the contrary in spite of warnings?Bonus question: Did you listen to or do you stream radio shows? Listen to books or prefer reading?

People do this all the time, God sent His son and people are constantly warned He is coming back and yet they keep living their sinful life with no thought to their future after this life

Bonus: I prefer to read but if I can't read cause I am busy I will listen to books or podcasts

4. Happy 80th Birthday, Grace Slick!

She sang with psychedelic band Jefferson Airplane and later reincarnations Jefferson Starship and Starship.
All rock 'n' rollers over the age of fifty look stupid and should retire. — Grace Slick.
Is pop music solely the domain of younger artists?
I think anyone of any age should be able to sing if they have the talent.  Pop music is not my type of music, I prefer praise and worship but I think age of singer in any genre should not be a problem
5. Tomorrow is Halloween. Any fond memories of Trick Or Treating or escorting little ones while they made the rounds? Favorite costume?

Bonus question: As an adult, have you attended a Halloween party or fancy-dress ball? Sexy? Or spooky?

My favorite costume was one that my Moma made me by cutting my face out of a paper bag and using things she had at the house

We attended our churches candyland last night and everyone dressed as candy or candy characters

6. Please share with us something interesting about your week.
Or church had its annual Candyland for kids in our church and city, here are a few pics of my son's family and some pics from candyland

Go here if you want to read more or share yours

My fall front porch

I love fall and I love decorating my porch.  This year we have moved.  Our little apartment just has a small patio porch but I tried to do the best I can.
It does make me smile when I go out there in the morning for my quiet time with God.  I also like to sit out there in the evenings to kind of wind down the day.  Just wanted to share in case you feel like you can't decorate this year, even a little can make you smile.  Work with what you have.
Here is mine and I hope it might inspire you too.

Happy fall and happy decorating until next time.

Daily Quiet Time, Yes or No?

Image result for quiet time
So should you have a daily quiet time with God or not?  To some people it is very important. To me it is one of the most important and special times of the day. Why should you or why would you? Well, I want to have a closer relationship with Him.  The more time you spend with someone the better you know them. God is definitely someone I want to know better.

What does quiet time look like? For me it is a time I read my bible and try to memorize scripture to hold in my heart for when life or the devil is attacking. I quote scripture when I am hurting, scared or feel like life is not going right. I pray for me, my friends, neighbors and any needs I know of. I use the time to praise God for all He has done and is doing for me. I am also learning to use quiet time to just do that, be quiet. In the bible it says to be still and know He is God. If you will be quiet, it is in those moments that God will speak to you.

I hear so many that say they don't have time for quiet time. It is about priorities. The time it takes to play on facebook, watch a movie or a tv show is way more than enough time to have your time with God. What is more important to you? I choose to get up early to have mine before anyone gets up. I love those quiet moments early in the morning. Part of my quiet time is to sit on my porch, watch the sunrise and just listen to the stillness.
Quiet time is what you make it between you and God. There is no right or wrong way to do it. Just focus on God, praise Him, pray to Him, read His word, listen to music, sing, or just be still.

Until next time,
Pat

Body, Mind, Spirit! Working on Me!

Image result for All About Me
I gave my grands to write a story this morning called "All About Me".  Well, this is all about me, well at least a part of where I am and where I am trying to get to.
Image result for getting healthier
I am working on being a better version of me, body, mind and spirit.  I started the end of September with a goal to get healthier physically.  I joined our local Community Center.  I am going to walk and have road a bike a few times.  I haven't really ventered out into the gym area yet but I am trying.  I don't have a specicic weight I want to get down to, I just want to be healthier and feel better.  This morning I got up at 4:45 and went to the gym before school with the grands.  It hurts esecially my feet and knees but hey they hurt anyway at the weight I am.  I would rather hurt trying to be better than hurting and dying too soon
Image result for getting healthier in my mind

I also working on my mind.  I am doing this by reading more, doing word games and such to keep my mind sharp.  I am trying to tak more, engage more with others and less web and Tv surfing.  I am also working on letting in less of peoples negativity and more of the Lords positivity.  I fail but I am trying.  I have had to let go of some people in my life.  Some people are just not meant to be here forever, they are like leaves in fall and need to fall and blow away.

Image result for be still
I am also working on my spirit.  I am doing a bible study with some online lady friends.  I am also doing some other short bible studies on You version.  I try to choose ones that are about things that I feel I need to work on in my life. I am now a member of an amazing church.  I feel God truly brought this church and these people into my life for the season I am in right now.  Something else I am working on is taking time to just be still, just be quiet, just be.  It is in those moments that I can hear what God is saying to me.  He not only wants us to hear our voice but He wants to let us hear His too.
This is where I am now.  I hope you will stop by again soon and see where we both are on this journey called life.

Until next time,
Pat

Taking a Break to see if I want to continue

I am taking a break from here.  I am not sure if I want to continue or if my blog is another thing that is just a thing of the past.  I ...
