Taking a Break to see if I want to continue

Image result for taking a break from blogging

I am taking a break from here.  I am not sure if I want to continue or if my blog is another thing that is just a thing of the past.  I love to read other blogs and I love posting but sometimes I just feel no one is reading and if no one is reading then I can just get an old fashioned notebook and journal that way.  I will miss blogging but it seems no one will probably miss me anyway.

Until I don't know....

Day 9, 10, 11 of a Month of Thankfulness and Week 2 of Making Your Home A Haven!

My candle is lit, my music is playing and my bible is open to be read throughout the day! My day 9-11 thankfulness is I am thankful for forgiveness, our ladies at my church and Veteran's day and all the vets who gave up so much to give back to our country and us.  I thank the ones who went and came home, the ones who gave all and the ones still giving.

Week 2 – Challenge for Making your Home a Haven!

Keep your candle going and add to it soft music every day in your home. Choose worship, classical or another form of peaceful music that helps you focus on the Lord.
My candle and soft music literally change the atmosphere of my home.  While the rest of my home may be messy, my candles keep on burning and my soft music keeps on playing.  Morning, noon and night they serve me. My candle serves me with a flickering warm light, a pleasant scent, and a reminder to turn to God as my source of strength and help.  My music serves me with a soothing sound.  They don’t make messes, they don’t need managed, they just simply bless me and my family.  I hope it blesses you too.

Thursday Thankful from A Month of Thankfuless and Handwritten Letters

As I was thinking about what I am thankful for today, my little granddaughter excitedly asked could she go check the mailbox.  I was thinking, wow she is so excited to check it when I know it will only have bills, advertisements and junk mail of various types.  I cannot remember the last time I got excited about getting the mail.  I would love to open and see a handwritten letter from a friend in there.  I started thinking though when is the last time I wrote one.
I opened a blog I like to read sometimes and she too was writing about handwritten letters.  She wrote about how no one writes them anymore but the joy we have when we receive one.  I cannot control if I receive one but I am going to start writing more and sending them out.  This is the perfect season when we can't get out as often.  It will be a blessing to sit at night and write to some friends.  I pray that it will bring joy to their faces when they open their mailbox and see a letter from me.
The more I have thought about it the more excited I have gotten for this adventure.  Maybe I might even one day or my granddaughter might open my mailbox one day and it will have gone from a sad one full of junk to a happy one with a letter back from a friend far away or even near who has joined me in this adventure of writing letters again.
When is the last time you sent a handwritten letter or note?  Fall and winter seems to be the perfect time to maybe dust off the paper, pick up the pen and send some joy to someone.

Until next time,
Pat
PS I am thankful for handwritten letters

Simple Womans Daybook for November 2, 2019

For Today

Looking out my window I see a cool, sunshiny day that is open to so many possibilities

I am thinking I am just so excited for this time of year, I love the fall.  I come alive in this season, it to me is like a new beginning.

I am thankful for my husband, he works so hard so I can stay home and homeschool our grandkids.  I have been married to him for 33 years and cannot imagine life without him.

One of my favorite things is sitting curled up in a chair in front of the fireplace, with a cup of hot tea and a good book
Image result for fake fireplace, cup of tea and a good book

I am creating some decorations for my little apartment

Image result for old fashioned poem to hang on the wall for Christmas     Image result for stacked books painted for Christmas decorations
These are not my pictures but are similar to some I am working on

I am wearing blue athletic pants and a tshirt and am barefoot as I tend to be most times

I am reading The Grumble Free Year by Tricia Goyer for her launch team

Watching 911 with my son but we are always a week behind as we watch on HULU

I am hoping that I can get caught up on some stuff and get started on Christmas as I have never felt so far behind

I am learning that I can't fix anyone including me, but I can trust God to lead me in where He wants me to go and what He wants for me to do

In my kitchen Sausage 4 cheese veggie pasta

In the school room I want to start to do more life skills classes and projects and crafty classes

Post Script
Iam doing this for the 2nd time this month as I just really love taking the time to think on things and making memories for maybe even after I am gone

If you enjoyed reading my daybook and would like to create one of your own,
HERE is the link to the format, guidelines and complete list of prompts.

Until next time,

A Month of Thankfulness-Day 2 and Goals

As I was thinking about things I am thankful for it started me thinking on other things this month that I want to do or need to do. I was reading on another blog where she posted her goals so I am going to also post a few of mine today also.

Day 2-I am thankful for God and that He never gives up on me no matter how much I mess up or if I give up on myself.  Our church is in the midst of a 40 days of prayer and fasting and it has been amazing.  Not all has gone well but it has challenged me in how I live my life and in my relationship with God.

My goals for this month are:

1)I am participating in Women Living Well's making your home challenge and bible study.  I have done it before and it is always a blessing in my life. If you want to join in or check it out you can go to this link:

Making Your Home A Haven

It starts this Monday but you can join in and still get alot from it starting where you are.

2) Drink more water as I failed miserably this past month
3) Walk at least 5 days a week
4) Read my bible daily before I start my day or get busy on other stuff (been doing pretty good on this)
5) Try to eat no sugar or be severely restrict it
6) No caffeine
7)Going to try and take the grumble free challenge(been reading The Grumble Free Year by Tricia Goyer, got to be on the launch team for it)

Well this is my thankful thing for today and my November goals.  I will check in a couple of times this month and in a month to see how I did.  I wou;d love to hear about your goals or what you are thankful for too.
Until next time.
Pat

November-A Month of Blessings!

Image result for november 1st

This is the month that people most often talk about what they are thankful for.  I will be posting other things as the month goes along but also my daily thankfulness.

Today I am thankful for my job.  My job is to homeschool my grandkids.  They do PACES through a Christian school.  So many people think I just hand them the pace and say do it.  It is so much more than that.  I teach them, I explain and I make sure they not only know it but how they may use it in real life.  We have yet to figure out where we are going to use algebra but we are slowly learning it together.  I also try to teach them so much more.  We learn about the Lord, how to live in the world, how to prepare for their future and just how to be a good person.  Sometimes we just have fun because if you can't have fun, then why do we even live?  Today is the day after Halloween and we are having dress up day and its a good day!

See ya tomorrow for day 2 and please feel free to comment and tell me what you are thankful for too

Morning Breakfast Courtesy of Granddaughter

This morning after making breakfast for the grands and starting supper, I sat down here at my computer.  I looked up to see my oldest granddaughter. She said, Mamaw you need breakfast too.  This is what she made me.  She said, she made pastries and hot tea(toaster strudle and plain tea heated).  I have never ate better even in the fanciest of tea shops cause it was served with love! How is your day going on this fine, cool, fall day?
Until next time

Wednesday Medley October 30, 2019

1. During Red Ribbon Week a red ribbon or rubbery silicone bracelet is worn to remind others to live drug free lives and honor the sacrifices of all those who've have lost their lives fighting the war against illegal drugs.

Do you have family members or loved ones in law enforcement? Wearing any memorial ribbons or bracelets?
I have 2 sons who work in law enforcement, I am not sure if they do anything to honor red ribbon week but my older son is a K9 Officer and one thing his dog can do is search for drugs but I know he finds more than he wish was out there but the more they find, the less that is on the streets
2. There isn't an International Day for October 30th.
What is your suggestion for a new national or international day?

I would make a day to honor our foster kids and to find homes for as many as possible where they can be taken care of forever and loved and treated like they should be

3. On this date in 1938, Orson Welles performed his radio play of H. G. Wells' The War Of The Worlds. Some people understood it to be an actual news broadcast of a Martian attack though there were disclaimers throughout the show.

Have you witnessed an example of people behaving to the contrary in spite of warnings?Bonus question: Did you listen to or do you stream radio shows? Listen to books or prefer reading?

People do this all the time, God sent His son and people are constantly warned He is coming back and yet they keep living their sinful life with no thought to their future after this life

Bonus: I prefer to read but if I can't read cause I am busy I will listen to books or podcasts

4. Happy 80th Birthday, Grace Slick!

She sang with psychedelic band Jefferson Airplane and later reincarnations Jefferson Starship and Starship.
All rock 'n' rollers over the age of fifty look stupid and should retire. — Grace Slick.
Is pop music solely the domain of younger artists?
I think anyone of any age should be able to sing if they have the talent.  Pop music is not my type of music, I prefer praise and worship but I think age of singer in any genre should not be a problem
5. Tomorrow is Halloween. Any fond memories of Trick Or Treating or escorting little ones while they made the rounds? Favorite costume?

Bonus question: As an adult, have you attended a Halloween party or fancy-dress ball? Sexy? Or spooky?

My favorite costume was one that my Moma made me by cutting my face out of a paper bag and using things she had at the house

We attended our churches candyland last night and everyone dressed as candy or candy characters

6. Please share with us something interesting about your week.
Or church had its annual Candyland for kids in our church and city, here are a few pics of my son's family and some pics from candyland

Go here if you want to read more or share yours
