30 Days of Summer-through my eyes-Days 24-27-Family

So much has been going on and I seem to have gotten behind so I am going to post four pictures today of my summer......

My Daddy has been in heaven for 31 years today
My son took a trip to Texas for a Rangers/Yankees game

My hubby and his brother and sisters

My brothers and my youngest grand

To me summer, like all the time is about family and times spent together.

Baby Steps Progress Report!

I am working on a 21 day challenge of 7 minutes of exercise, 7 glasses of water and 7 verses in the bible.  I know many of you may can do more but you have to start somewhere and this is my first baby step.  Just wanted to update any of you who may be praying on how things are going.
I bought me a glass with a straw that holds 14 ounces and that helps with the water.  I am doing Leslie Sansones walking DVD for exercise and I am doing a study on Jonah for my bible reading.  I have not been perfect but no baby just gets up and walks perfectly.  They try and stumble, fall down and then eventually they can walk and I am doing the baby steps.

Please pray I will keep going until I meet this and many more challenges to come.

Thanks and God bless,
Pat

30 Days of Summer-through my eyes-Day 23-Water!

I am doing a challenge with some friends where we have to drink at least 7 glasses of water a day.  I got this new cup at Dollar tree and it has really helped me to get more water.  It holds 14 ounces so that is almost 2 glasses every time I finish it.  Do you use a special glass or anything special to get enough water?  Feel free to share your tips in the comments.

30 days of summer through my eyes-day 22--Hard Worker

Billy has been working on cleaning up our backyard for the last couple of days.  I am ashamed to say it had been neglected and was pretty bad.
He has had a very hard worker helping him though.  Our oldest grand is only 7 years old but he volunteered to help.  He has really worked hard too.  It is good to see one so young have such a good work ethic.  Wish some of our older people worked as hard as he does.
Thanks JJ for being such a sweet young man and Jonathan & Jenny for raising him to be a good worker and boy.

30 days of summer through my eyes-day 21-Rock me Mamaw!

What do you do when your 5 year old grand asks to be rocked to sleep?  I know what I did, I rocked her cause way too soon she will think she is too old to sit in Mamaw's lap and rock.  Memories are forever!

Kelly's Chance

I love to read and this book is fantastic.  It is written by a facebook friend and is a historical book about an area I love to read about, Pennsylvania.  In the book, Kelly McGregor's life with her family is hard but yet she looks for the beauty around her.  She dreams of a future away from this type of life.  As she meets and comes to know a friend and God she realizes how much more that there can be ahead for her.
This book kept my attention and was a book I didn't want to put down. Kelly's Chance is Book 1 in the "Brides of Lehigh Canal" series.  You can be sure I am already looking for the next book in this series.
I highly recommend this book and this author if you are looking for something good to read.  I bought this book for myself at Walmart and received nothing for this review.  Just wanted to share it with my reading friends.

I am sharing this as part of The Simple Woman's Bookclub also and if you would like to join in then go here:

A New Journey------

(Picture borrowed from google)

I have been going through some things physically and emotionally.  Some have known, some didn't, some care, some don't.  Now it is time for me to care though and to do something about it.
I will be starting a new journey in some areas tomorrow and if you want to, I would appreciate the prayers.  This is something I have prayed about and something (somethings) I need to do, and some to not do anymore.  I am sure some will support, some ignore and some be upset, some happy.  It is time I get back on the journey to where God wants me to be and where I want to be.  If you have made it this far in reading this, thanks and again, please pray as you feel led. I will share more as the journey goes and it begins tomorrow with Step 1......

30 Days of Summer-Through My Eyes-Brothers and Sisters!-Day 13

Brothers and Sisters!

One of my favorite pictures from July 4th.  They were eating nerd slushies that Daddy brought home and we were talking.  I looked up and this is how they were sitting.  Beautiful memory in the making.

30 days of Summer Through My Eyes-Day 10

I am not sure if you can see the babies too clearly but Moma duck was teaching her babies and it was so precious to watch.  They were following her all in a row.  I am always telling me I am off to get my ducks in a row but I am not sure I do it quite as good as Moma Duck did.

Drivers Licence for Stephen (and Moma)

Stephen was homeschooled so he never took drivers education in school.  He did learn the basics of car maintenance and repair.  He turned 16 and then 18 and he still hadn't taken the test to get his licence.  This summer he has been doing yard work and helping with the maintenance and yard maintenance at our church.  The man who is his boss couldn't believe he was 19 and had graduated and still no licence.
So the other day we set out to the DMV for him to take the test.  After 3 trips to there, one to the school to get his transcript (he actually graduated through our church school) and one trip to the revenue office for an ID, he was ready to take the test.  He didn't have to take it the old fashioned way I did, he took it on an IPAD and the way it is set up is there are 25 questions and when you have passed so many it will shut off and tell you that you passed.  Me and another couple of Moma's talked and waited as our children took the test.
Praises they all 3 got a

So now I told him we are going to be like Driving Miss Daisey, only it is going to be driving Moma.  He has between 30 days and 6 months to take the driving part and get his regular licence.  He may not have got it at the age everyone expected but he has it now. I am not sure who is more excited me or him.

God bless,
Pat
