Count Your Blesings!

I know today is December 1st and everyone is off of being thankful and on to Christmas.  I think we should be thankful every day, every week, every month and not just at Thanksgiving.  We are always so blessed.
I decided for the month of December every day Stephen and I will find someone to be a blessing to in some way expecting nothing in return.  But more than that I want us to count our blessings.  So I decided we would make a blessings jar to count them and on days when we are down we can go back and pull them out and remind our self how blessed we are.  We are making our jar later today so no pictures to share yet. I am sharing  this with you so you could make one for yourself or your family if you want to.

First you need a jar, box or some type of jar or container.  I like using a clear jar so you can see the blessings as they grow.  You could paint the lid, cover with paper, cloth, tie a ribbon on it or leave it plain, that is up to you.
Next you might want to make or print you a paper to put on the jar that says count your blessings, blessings jar, our blessings or something like that.

Then cut some strips of paper, we are using white but you could do any color you have on hand.  You will use these to write your blessings on each day.  Then you fold them and add them to your jar.  At the end of the month you will have a jar full of blessings, a heart full of blessings and memories.
So are you up to the challenge?  Let me know if you decide to make one for your or your family? Also this would be a nice gift for someone else if you made them one to be a blessing.
God bless,
Pat

PS I am linking up to a 31 day generosity challenge this month and this is my entry for them, if you would like to join in go to

Happy 16th Birthday Stephen Austin Love!

From this little baby born on April 7, 1995 to the wonderful young man you have became April 7, 2011 Moma and Daddy were so blessed the day you were born and grow more blessed with each passing year.  I pray God will richly bless you this year.  Let Him be your guide and follow Him and do His will and you will be right where you need to be.  We love you! What If?

Saw this on a friends blog and had to share-Before you gripe about another petty something about your spouse or child-think how how you would feel if you woke up without them tomorrow. Man this hit me in the face and really made me really think! :(
Then, I found this quote above about what if you woke up today with only what you thanked God for yesterday.  Who or what would you still have?  Would you have your spouse, your kids, your friends, your home, car, anything?  Again, this really made me think and I ashamed to say I am not sure I like my answers to the above questions.
I cannot change the past as none of us can but I am going to really work on changing my answers and my life.  I know I need to really work on this but I am sharing it in the hope it might help others as well.
God bless,
Pat

Faith Over Fear! I Choose Faith!

I have been feeling overwhelmed and stressed for quite some time.  I have tried so many ways to make it better and even tried just giving up.  I have been doing lots of praying, talking to friends and even more talking to God.  I am now choosing faith over fear.  Faith over the fear I am not good enough; faith over the fear that God doesn't love me; faith over the fear of what other people think; faith over choosing the world and the lie of busyness to not make time for me and God.

There have been hurricanes, tornadoes and floods over much of the country.  They are devastating and people think they can never overcome this. The storms of life are much the same. They are hard and devastating and we will like things are beyond our understanding and out of our life is out of control. This is where faith comes in.  We have to have faith in what we cannot see, what we can not understand and in God.  We have to choose faith over fear.

Faith comes in trusting God and that He wan…
