Simple Woman's Daybook-January 2015!

This is my first Simple Woman's Daybook for this year:
Outside my window... a very cold night with forecast of freezing rain
I am thinking...  how I can get my days more organized and back on track
I am thankful...for my grands and that I get to spend time with them daily
I am wearing... jeans and a blue tshirt with a pink polka dot pocket
I am creating... a sort of schedule to help my days run smoother-setting up calendar
I am going... to work on some new stuff for Wednesday night Kids of the King classes
I am wondering... if we will really get ice tonight
I am hoping... for lots of kids in church classes tomorrow
I am learning... to rest in the Lord, trying anyway, this may take all of 2015
Around the house... enjoying a day with the grands
In the kitchen... turkey chili dogs and fries per Billy's request
I am pondering... 2015 and what the Lord has for us

A favorite quote for today...

I am reading...My new bible and devotion book I got for Christmas
One of my favorite things...rain on a tin roof and snuggling with Billy
A few plans for this week: Froggie school with ZZ, church, more plan making and lesson preparing for school and church
A peek into one of my days...

Bible Reading Plan, New Devotion book, Bible and a Giveaway!

One of my goals this year is to read the bible completely.  Also to have a consistent daily quiet time with the Lord.  I am blessed, my son and husband gave me a new bible for Christmas, it is a KJV Women's Promise Bible.  I am loving it and it is even my favorite purple.  I am also blessed that our church always has bible day the first Sunday of the new year.  They do this to help send bibles around the world to missionaries through BEAMS.  BEAMS sends whole hardback bibles free of charge to missionaries so they can give them to new converts.  This is a wonderful program which I am glad we are a part of and help support.
Also on bible day we get a chart so that we can mark where we read and if you finish in a year, sign and send it into BEAMS, they will send you a certificate.  We also for the last 2 years have gotten a devotional book that has a good devotion for each day of the year.
So as I said I am blessed and I am off to a good start on these goals.

How are you doing on your bible reading and quiet time with the Lord?  If you would like a copy of this bible reading schedule and chart to mark comment and I will gladly send you one.  Also everyone who comments by this Friday January 9th will be entered to win a devotion book to help you with your quiet time.

God bless,
Pat

One Word 2015-My Word is "Rest"

I have seen several who have chose "one word" for the new year.  I have done this hit or miss but this year I felt led to choose one and my one word for 2015 is "REST".  I have felt so overwhelmed especially lately and I feel God has led me to this word and to rest in Him.

I chose REST because I must remember God is with me. He hasn’t left me and I must stop worrying over things I cannot control. "We need rest not just to practice the presence of God internally, but to guard against the negativity of the enemy and the negativity of other people.

Psalms 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

I can't be the Wife, Moma, Mamaw, Teacher, Leader, Friend, nothing if I don't have rest. Not just physical rest but also spiritual rest, resting in the Lord.  This is my word and my goal for 2015.

God bless,
Pat
